Facilities and Resources
The Department of Industrial Management is committed to providing a dynamic and supportive academic environment through its modern facilities. Our infrastructure includes smart lecture halls equipped with multimedia systems to enhance interactive learning experiences, and a range of computer laboratories tailored for programming, data analysis, and system design. The department also features BYOD labs to encourage flexibility and independent learning, as well as high-performance computing labs designed to support advanced research and simulations. In addition, a fully air-conditioned auditorium with multimedia capabilities is available for guest lectures, seminars, and large-scale academic events. These modern and functional spaces play a vital role in delivering high-quality education, fostering innovation, and supporting both teaching and research excellence.

Industrial Management Science Students' Association (IMSSA) - University of Kelaniya
Industrial Management Science Students Association (IMSSA) is one of the most dynamic student bodies in the University of Kelaniya. Its main objective is to provide the students with an opportunity to develop their leadership, communication, and teamwork skills through design, development and implementation of selected projects. In addition, it supplements the learning of its members by organizing lectures, field visits etc. It also provides the opportunity for members to interact socially among themselves and with fellow people through its CSR projects and many other activities

hackX – Inter-University Startup Challenge
hackX is the flagship startup competition organized by the Industrial Management Science Students’ Association (IMSSA) of the Department of Industrial Management, University of Kelaniya. It brings together innovative undergraduate minds from universities across Sri Lanka to ideate, design, and pitch technology-driven business solutions. Focused on fostering entrepreneurship, teamwork, and real-world problem solving, hackX provides a dynamic platform for students to showcase their talent, build impactful prototypes, and connect with industry leaders.
Exposition
Exposition is an annual flagship initiative by the Industrial Management Science Students’ Association (IMSSA), combining a magazine launch with a series of industry-focused events. It serves as a platform to showcase student insights, industry trends, and academic reflections at the intersection of Management and Information Technology. The event features guest talks, expert panels, and networking opportunities with professionals, empowering students to engage with real-world challenges and build industry connections.
IM Spotlight
IM Spotlight is a night where unity and talent beautifully intertwine, bringing out the very essence of the Department’s values. Blurring the lines between batches, years, and even between students and staff, everyone comes together to weave the annual story of IM Spotlight.
