Duration
Two academic years, part-time, consists of six semesters.

Entry Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from a University or Institution recognized by the University Grants Commission and/or the University of Kelaniya
OR
Postgraduate, professional, or any other qualification with relevant field experience accepted by the University of Kelaniya
Admission process
The candidates who have satisfied the entry qualifications will have to face and get through a selection interview.
Application Procedure
Application can be submitted online through fgs.kln.ac.lk or collected from the Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya.
Application fee of Rs. 1000/- can be paid to any branch of People’s Bank to the credit of Account No: 055-1-001-1-0667549, People’s Bank, Kelaniya Branch.
Perfected applications should be forwarded to Senior Assistant Registrar, Faculty of Graduate Studies, University of Kelaniya, along with the certified copies of the following documents and the customer’s copy of the paying-in voucher.

Fee Structure
The all-inclusive fee for the MSc in MIT course would be Rs. 500,000/-, which could be paid in four installments with an initial upfront fee of Rs. 200,000 at registration. The remaining installments should be paid for as follows.
Installment 2: Rs. 125,000.00 to be paid on or before 8 months after the commencement of the course.
Installment 3: Rs. 100,000.00 to be paid on or before 14 months after the commencement of the course.
Installment 4: Rs. 75,000.00 to be paid on or before 20 months after the commencement of the course.
Course Overview
The programme is a part-time course which consists of six semesters that span over a duration of 2 years. Coursework includes both theory and practical components, which may include continuous assessments. Each semester has an end-semester examination. The 15-credit individual research project will be conducted over the course of the second year.
The medium of instruction is in English.

Graduation Requirements
A candidate is eligible for the MSc. in MIT if he/she
Obtains grades of B- or better in all course units aggregating to 60 credits
Achieves a minimum GPA of 2.70
AND
Completes the relevant requirements within a period of three academic years.
Merit Pass
A candidate shall be awarded a Merit Pass provided he/she
Obtains grades of B+ or better in all course units aggregating to 60 credits.
Achieves a minimum GPA of 3.70.
Obtain grades of A or better in course units aggregating to at least 50% of total credits for the course units considered for awarding the MSc. In MIT.
AND
Completes the relevant requirements in the first attempt.
Distinction Pass
A candidate shall be awarded a Distinction Pass provided he/she
Obtains grades of A or better in all course units aggregating to 60 credits.
Achieves a minimum GPA of 4.00.
AND
Completes the relevant requirements in the first attempt.
A candidate should apply for the award of the MSc. in Management and Information Technology (MSc. in MIT) degree on satisfying the above requirements. Upon completion of the MSc. in MIT degree, a candidate is entitled to an official transcript giving the grades in the respective course units after the confirmation of the results by the University Senate.
